Pyelonephritis
Pyelonephritis is often a bladder infection, but can be transmitted in the blood and is a bacterial infection.
Symptoms include blood in the urine, fever, vomiting, backache, stiff gait and stooped posture.
The disease develops gradually and may not appear as an infection, but the cat will lose weight and show signs of kidney failure. It can be diagnosed during a regular check and treatment before they are irreversibly damaged kidney may provide a cure or at least slow its progression.
The treatment will be chosen on the basis of tests and urine cultures but usually comprise antibiotics and fluid therapy during a period of approximately six weeks.
Glomerulonephritis

Specifically, Nephritis is an inflammation of the kidney that may be caused by a number of things, including poisons, drugs, toxins or viruses.
Nephrosis is a kidney disease that nephrons are destroyed and kidney cells to malfunction causing protein to leak and are lost in the urine. Ultimately, the fluid accumulates under the skin of the paws and abdomen.
Unfortunately, the diagnosis of nephritis and nephrosis not usually occur until the already have kidney failure, so the palliative treatment of steroids and a special diet, usually the only treatment.
